Filmed during a 2016 military drill, from 1:30 to 2:00 p.m., five drones flew along the central lines of five major roads in Taipei City, capturing footage from a slightly aerial perspective. This vantage point feels like invisible surveillance, allowing us to observe the city from a different height. When the sirens go off, the vibrant and bustling city of Taipei turns into a ghost town, devoid of people. This surreal scene is part of Taiwan's routine military drills and reflects the country's heightened awareness of the looming threat of war. The nearly six-minute film, shot with steady and slow-moving drone footage, showcases the city’s vastness and prosperity. Yet, as time progresses, a growing sense of unease gradually emerges.
