But before everything is wrapped up, Paul will find himself in Rome, standing before Nero who was the reigning Caesar at that time. The Bible doesn’t say explicitly when Paul died, but 2 Timothy 1:17 shows Paul is in Rome when he wrote to Timothy, and by the end of that epistle, Paul says he is “ready to be offered and the time of my departure is at hand.” All signs point to Paul’s soon homegoing.
