NTEB HOUSE CHURCH SUNDAY MORNING SERVICE: And That Jesus Was Buried, And That He Rose Again The Third Day According To The Scriptures

We are not here to discuss Easter in any way, shape or form, there is nothing about that pagan holiday that interests me on any level other than say, if I was taking a course in Comparative Religions 101 down at the junior College. You can keep your chocolate rabbits, egg baskets and pastel-colored dresses. I want to talk about why Almighty God would even bother to come down here and be crucified and killed in my place, buried with the wicked, and then risen again on the third day according to the scriptures. I want to talk about a Man who rose from the dead by His own power. Away with Easter and give me Jesus! All over the world this Sunday, there will be observant Christians of every persuasion, dutifully filing into churches, who have plied themselves with enough caffeine and sugar to stay awake for the entire 45-minute message they have prepared themselves to endure. When it's done, both pastor and participant will have "checked the boxes" on their yearly Easter obligation, and go out to enjoy ham and scallop potatoes with friends and loved ones. Jesus literally raising Himself from the dead will be as far off from their thoughts as next year's Super Bowl. Not me, I want to shout from the rooftops that "the blood still saves!!" I want to fall on my face and praise the God of Heaven and Earth who went to Hell in my place and came back again to give salvation to me as a free gift. Today is not Easter, it is Resurrection Sunday because a Man raised Himself from the dead to save me!
