Two years after Japan shut down all its nuclear power plants, they’re starting to come online again. Sendai on Kyushu Island was the first to do so in August. But many Japanese remain afraid that a disaster like the one in Fukushima in 2011 could happen again. The government insists that tough new safety protocols will work but the public might not reassured.
