El pilates y el Yoga comenzaron a hacer la opciones recomendadas por los médicos que estuvieron involucrados en mi diagnostico ( traumatologo de columna, traumatologo, fisiatra). Esta condición (espondilolistesis) realmente no limita mi vida cotidiana, a veces pequeñas molestias en la zona lumbar o en la parte posterior de las piernas que se han convertido en un aviso para mi cerebro que estoy viva (así lo he ido programando). In this opportunity, I share the new physical activity that I practice since a few weeks ago in the city of Buenos Aires-Argentina. Pilates and Yoga started to become the options recommended by the doctors who were involved in my diagnosis (spine traumatologist, traumatologist, physiatrist). This condition (spondylolisthesis), does not really limit my life daily, sometimes small discomforts in the lumbar area or in the back of the legs have become a warning to my brain that I am alive (so I have been programming it). Quienes me conocen y leen mis post, saben de mi pasión por el ciclismo en carreteras de montana, trekking y patinaje (este ultimo no lo practicaba), pero igualmente me encanta. Justo estas actividades están contraindicadas (ironías de la vida), confieso que recordar todas las aventuras en bicicleta disfrutando de las montañas grabadas en mis recuerdos, siento nostalgia, pero las prioridades ahora son otras y recurro a la lógica para encauzar esta situación y convertirla en nuevas experiencias que también me permita sentirme satisfecha. Those who know me and read my posts, know of my passion for cycling on mountain roads, trekking and skating (the latter I did not practice), but I love it anyway. Just these activities are contraindicated (ironies of life), I confess that remembering all the adventures on bicycle enjoying the mountains recorded in my memories, I feel nostalgic, but the priorities are now others and I resort to logic to channel this situation and turn it into new experiences that also allow me to feel satisfied. Así fue que llegue a este centro de Yoga y pilates en cama (Reformer pilates) Pura Vida, ubicado a 3 cuadras de donde estamos residenciados y ha sido una bonita y diferente experiencia, al inscribirme solicitaron un diagnóstico y recomendaciones médicas para la práctica de esta actividad (por ahora pilates). Han pasado algunas semanas y siento que ha sido muy beneficioso para mi salud física y mental porque ayuda al sistema nervioso, mejora la circulación, reduce el estrés y otros beneficios que iré comentando, aparte de conocer nuevas personas lo cual es importante para mi. So it was that I arrived at this Yoga and Pilates center in bed (Reformer Pilates) Pura Vida, located 3 blocks from where we live and it has been a nice and different experience, when I registered they requested a diagnosis and medical recommendations for the practice of this activity (for now Pilates). It has been a few weeks and I feel that it has been very beneficial for my physical and mental health because it helps the nervous system, improves circulation, reduces stress and other benefits that I will comment, besides meeting new people which is important to me. Voy 3 veces a la semana (martes, miércoles, jueves), algo que me parece muy responsable y acertado es que, cada instructor esta al tanto de la condición física de los participantes (6 camas) pendiente de la postura adecuada en la ejecución de los ejercicios. Al principio es un poco complicado sincronizar la respiración (fundamental), apretar la parte baja del abdomen, mover las piernas, los brazos y la cabeza, pero con la práctica se va mejorando la coordinación. I go 3 times a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday), something that I find very responsible and successful is that each instructor is aware of the physical condition of the participants (6 beds) pending the proper posture in the execution of the exercises. At the beginning it is a little complicated to synchronize the breathing (fundamental), tighten the lower abdomen, move the legs, arms and head, but with practice the coordination improves (video). Las chicas que dirigen las clases son muy cálidas y amables: Mora (martes), Valeria (miércoles) y Sol (jueves), la música de fondo es relajante, tranquila y amena la cual permite la concentración necesaria para ejecutar y coordinar los ejercicios. Estas camas de pilates están diseñadas con resortes y cuerdas para trabajar los músculos de todo el cuerpo, hasta ahora estoy en lo básico pero cada día se pone mejor porque hay aumento de tensión y mayor exigencia. Mientras escribo este post, me pregunto si observo cambios? definitivamente SI, cuando salgo de las clases observo y siento mejor mi postura corporal, los músculos fuertes, más equilibrada y flexible, aunado a esto le sumo las caminatas por la ciudad y creo que ha sido una excelente combinación. The girls who lead the classes are very warm and friendly: Mora (Tuesday), Valeria (Wednesday) and Sol (Thursday), the background music is relaxing, calm and pleasant which allows the necessary concentration to execute and coordinate the exercises. These pilates beds are designed with springs and ropes to work the muscles of the whole body, so far I'm in the basics but every day it gets better because there is increased tension and greater demand. As I write this post, I wonder if I notice changes? definitely YES, when I leave the classes I notice and feel better my body posture, strong muscles, more balanced and flexible, added to this I add the walks around the city and I think it has been a great combination.
