Nur-D: 38th

from The Sound Hosted by KQAL 89.5FM

Tonight on The Sound we hear from hip hopper Nur-D. Nur-D is a Minneapolis artist with a variety of talents including rapping, singing and spoken word. With a conscious message delivered with no curses, he defies the conception of hip hop today. Nur-D displays his influences in geek culture as well as socially conscious messages. Tonight we're listening to and talking about his latest album "38th", where he carries the tremendous weight of the murder of George Floyd, channeling it into concise, powerful art. I'm Matt Drewry with Nur-D tonight on KQAL's The Sound. Original air date: 12/09/20. The Sound is written and produced by KQAL 89.5FM on the campus of Winona State University. The Sound is made possible by a grant from the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
