Nurse RaDonda Vaught Convicted of Homicide?

from The ZDoggMD Show · host Dr. Zubin Damania

Former Vanderbilt nurse RaDonda Vaught was convicted of criminally negligent homicide and abuse of an impaired adult...for a medication error. It was a tragic error that many nurses have told me could have happened to many of them: crappy tech, poor systems, understaffing, and human error leading to the death of a vulnerable patient. And now we have the conviction of a nurse on criminal charges for such a mistake. Here are my thoughts on why this is a TERRIBLE precedent for anyone working in healthcare.  Additionally, read statements from the American Nurses Association (ANA) and American Association of Critical Care Nurses (ACCN) regarding the criminal conviction. Here are my prior episodes discussing Vaught's case.
