Nursing Home Abuse Attorney Frederick, MD

from Blank Kim Injury Law's Podcast · host Aaron Blank

What constitutes nursing home abuse?   Nursing home abuse is the mistreatment or neglect of elderly individuals in long-term care institutions. This abuse can take various forms, including physical, emotional, financial, or sexual injury, as well as neglect, negligent conduct, or purposeful harm perpetrated by staff or fellow residents. Physical abuse involves hitting, slapping, or any other aggressive action that causes harm to the resident. Emotional abuse includes verbal assaults, threats, or humiliation, which can have long-term psychological consequences. Financial abuse happens when someone manipulates or exploits an elderly person's assets, typically through deception or pressure. Sexual abuse is defined as any nonconsensual sexual act perpetrated on a resident. Neglect is another serious kind of maltreatment in which caretakers fail to meet basic necessities such as food, water, hygiene, and medical care. This can result in starvation, infections, dehydration, and exacerbated medical issues.   If you suspect nursing home abuse or neglect, report it immediately. In such circumstances, the legal team at Blank Kim Injury Law is dedicated to assisting victims and their families in obtaining justice.  If I suspect nursing home abuse, what symptoms should I look for?   If you suspect nursing home abuse, you must be attentive and recognize potential indicators of damage to your loved one. Physical indicators of abuse may include inexplicable bruises, wounds, burns, or fractures, especially in places that are normally covered. Sudden weight loss, dehydration, or poor hygiene may all indicate neglect or inadequate care.   Behavior changes, such as anger, disorientation, or depression, might also indicate maltreatment. A abrupt decline in health or worsening medical issues may indicate that adequate medical treatment is not being delivered. Additionally, bedsores or untreated medical requirements may indicate neglect.   Financial abuse can be difficult to detect, although it can include sudden changes in banking activity or missing goods. If there is a lack of communication or transparency about your loved one's condition, you may be concerned about potential cover-ups. Visit us online: Email: [email protected]://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7HVHfj_ceNEOur Address: Blank Kim Injury Law122 E Patrick St, Frederick, MD 21701(240) 599-8553https://www.google.com/maps?cid=3754425548729968097https://sites.google.com/view/nursinghomeabuseattorneyfmd/Find us around the web: Like us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/BlankKimInjuryLawFrederickMDFollow us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/BKLawFrederickTiktok: https://www.tiktok.com/@blankkiminjuryfrederickSubscribe to our YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLBxXnR_czKDS1VN-N6LnkmE0NXr06gN2LFind us on Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/blank-kim-injury-law-frederick-md/nursing-home-abuse-attorneyListen to our Buzzsprout Podcasts: https://www.buzzsprout.com/2307254/16956369
