NXT and AEW brought wrestling fans from 2024 into 2025 with a pair of New Year's episodes that delivered. Host Adam Silverstein opens with the prelude to NXT New Year's Evil [5:30], which saw Giulia prepare for Roxanne Perez, Trick Williams confront Oba Femi, Ethan Page destroy Cedric Alexander, Lexis King get stripped the Heritage Cup and Andre Chase are a disheveled return. "The Silver King" then breaks down ratings for both shows before tackling AEW Fight for the Fallen [27:15] with Adam Copeland strangely changing his name, Rated FTR taking down Jon Moxley's Death Riders, Ricochet bloodying Swerve Strickland and not much developing with Mariah May or Mercedes Mone in the women's division.
