NXT: Waller emerges, New Day raises rent | AEW: Hayter vs. Shida steals show

NXT and AEW are building to special New Year's shows while setting the stage for major changes in 2023. Host Adam Silverstein looks at the latest across both brands. "The Silver King" starts with NXT [5:45] with Grayson Waller emerging as a threat to Bron Breakker, Carmelo Hayes taking his first steps becoming the true No. 1 contender, Roxanne Perez making her first appearance as champion, and a pair of tag team title matches rocking the crowd with New Day particularly raising the rent. Adam then dives into AEW [29:20] with Ricky Starks moving on to a feud with Chris Jericho, Bryan Danielson finding a hurdle to overcome before fighting MJF, Jamie Hayter vs. Hikaru Shida stealing the show as the main event of Dynamite, and arguably the worst segment of the year involving Swerve Strickland developing Mogul Affiliates while attacking Keith Lee with Rick Ross at his side.
