NY Attorney General Awards $1.3 Million to Delaware and Sullivan Farms from Pollution Lawsuit

New York Attorney General Letitia James and the state’s DEC awarded more than $1.34 million in grants to Delaware and Sullivan County farmers. The grant program is a result of the 2023 illegal pollution settlement with Friesland for their repeated environmental law violations at its facility in Delhi. The grants will focus on access to new agricultural technology and improving soil health for 25 farms, including dairy, cattle, and organic crop farms.Radio Catskill’s Kimberly Izar spoke with Connor Young, Agricultural Program Manager at the Watershed Agricultural Council.
