A judge threw it off the ballot for the fall, but an appeal is expected.New York’s Equal Rights Amendment, which would enshrine the right to an abortion in the state, has been ordered off the November ballot, after a judge ruled that lawmakers didn’t follow the appropriate procedure in passing it.Two years ago, the state’s Democratic Party moved fast to respond to the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, which allowed states to curtail abortion rights.
