NYC Reaches a Budget Deal, Norway World Cup Spotlight, Interview with Justin Sanchez

from What's What

Mayor Mamdani came to a handshake agreement with Council speaker Julie Menin this morning at City Hall on next year's fiscal budget. This will aid New York residents in affordable housing and transportation. Norway hasn’t played in the World Cup since 1998. But they just advanced to the Round of 16. WFUV’s Livia Regina heads to a historically Norwegian area in Brooklyn to see how Norwegian New Yorkers are celebrating their team. WFUV’s Sonia Weliwitigoda spoke with Justin Sanchez, a City Council Member representing District 17 in the South Bronx, who is also pursuing his law degree at Fordham, about how he’s incorporated the Fordham mission into his council work.
