Welcome to the Tweed Trends podcast. Hey, Evette, what's trending today? Hey, I'm Evette, hey girl! And you are tuned in to Tweed Trends.
It's the quickest way to find out what's trending today. Hello, and welcome to the New Year's Eve episode of Tweed Trends. Let's get started. Alright, it's New Year's Eve and the clock has started.
The countdown has begun, and it is time to start setting the tone for the next year. Now, the goal is not to reflect on all of the lows of the previous year. You gotta reflect on some of the highs, too. Now, and it may not just be from 2020.
It may be from years before that you carried that negative energy into 2020. So here's the deal. We're not about that life. We're not doing that.
Not today. Not on my watch. What we're gonna do, I'll even give you a little grace period. Until six o'clock p.m., that's when you can consider the negative things that happen because you have to know where you came from to know where you're going, right?
So we're gonna focus on the negative things early on in the day, but six o'clock until that is gonna be our positivity zone. We're gonna talk about the positive things that happened and how we're gonna carry that same momentum of positivity into our 2021, right? That's our goal. That is the idea.
That is how we're doing this. Okay? So we're setting the tone for the next year. We are focusing on those things, those visions that we have for more positivity, more success, more great things to come.
And let's say you had hoped that in 2020, your Boaz was gonna show up and he didn't. Well, guess what? You've got 2021 for that now. So we're going to wait with great anticipation knowing that although it didn't happen yet, it is going to happen.
It is coming. So opening ourselves, opening our minds, opening our hearts to all of the possibilities, all of those great things that are to come because it's been said several times. You can find it even in the Bible that your better days will be those latter days. So don't get frustrated and be all mad because nothing good ever happens for me.
And 2020 was a bust and 2021 is gonna be the same way. Don't you do that? Don't you put mouth on your next year? You got a whole year ahead of you to do great things, to anticipate great things, to welcome great things into your life.
Okay? And that's what we're gonna focus on today. On Tuesday's episode, we were looking at what was still on our to-do list for 2020, leading into 2021. So here's the deal.
We're down to mere hours now, right? So we cannot think we're gonna try to just bulldoze our way through this list. What we need to do now is to take inventory of this list and determine which things are better, which things are gonna serve us well, and which things aren't. We want to find the best bang for our book.
So look at that list of things and you pick out those things that you're like, oh yeah, I gotta get this thing done before the new year comes in. And I don't know, maybe you are a little on the superstitious side. So you're thinking of all those things, kind of like I mentioned on Tuesday about like, oh, I gotta get my house in order. I gotta get my sage out and people do all sorts of things to get rid of bad spirits.
You might be one to open your windows at midnight tonight to let the stale air out in the fresh air in of the new year. I don't know. But whatever it is that you need to do to get in that right mindset to go into this next year with positivity and be open for the blessings and all the other great things that want to come into your life, then you go ahead and do those things. Look at that to-do list.
Break it down. Analyze it from top, bottom, left, right, all around and select those things that you know are gonna serve you and your family. And then from there, you'll deal with the other stuff. Yep, do it when you can.
But we need to go for those high ranking items that are gonna put us in the best position for the best outcome. So parents, those of you with littles, you gotta figure out what you're gonna do tonight. Are you letting the littles stay up until midnight? Are you doing an abbreviated version?
Or did you do New Year's Eve and yours is already over? Depending on what time zone you're in and you celebrate it at noon. Whatever you decide to do, make it fun, make it a great thing for your kids to then look at and be like, hey, maybe this is a tradition that you start and they look forward to New Year's Eve for those things. But make sure when you do this that you work in the positivity little notion for them because the way that you raise a child up is the way that they will then go out and present themselves to the world.
So if you get them to thinking, hey, this is an opportunity, this is like a reset that I get to push this button and at midnight or whatever my reset time is, then I get to start things over and maybe my last year wasn't so great. Maybe my grades weren't so cool. Maybe I didn't have as many friends or people didn't treat me well or I didn't treat myself well, then this gives your child an opportunity to then almost kind of reinvent themselves and say, alright, I gotta change my mindset. I gotta change my vision.
I gotta change my path. I gotta do better. And I wanna do better. So here we go.
This is my chance. This is the time. This is the place. This is where the rubber meets the road.
You know? And so now if you have little littles, what I would like to suggest is the on the hour celebration where depending on if you're gonna let them stay up till midnight, that's fine and dandy whatever. But like say starting at six o'clock, you have something for them to do and then at seven o'clock, there's another activity, eight o'clock, nine o'clock, ten o'clock. Make it like a scavenger hunt where they have to find the clue for that time period or you know, don't make it something where you have to facilitate it from start to finish each one of the items.
Make it something that they can do on their own and that you can then have peace of mind to be working on your hop and jons and let me say this that I mentioned in hop and jons. Okay. I don't know who came up with the idea that black IPs were the key ingredient in hop and john because maybe it's a southern thing, maybe it's because I'm from the south, but we don't do that. Okay?
Feel peace. You hear me? Feel peace. That is for real, for real hop and jons.
You know, have these activities for them to do and then that way they're enjoying themselves, they're looking forward to the next hour and what that surprise is going to be and it just makes for a very festive and fun time period. So parents, that's my recommendation and suggestion for you and you can go to a Dollar Tree and get the items for the different time periods, especially if you have a lot of kids, you know, get a cake mix or like a cupcake mix or brownies or whatever your children like and let that be like your early item, your six o'clock and then you got different like poppers or maybe you even want to get fireworks or sparklers to have in one of the bags and you know, you go all the way up to the 11 o'clock hour and then like say your 11 55 is all your prep stuff getting ready for the new year to come in. But there's so many different things. Go on Pinterest.
Pinterest will pimp you out with all the ideas, all of the tea on how to make this an awesome time for your kids. And then on top of that, guess what parents? You get to have a great time too. Well guys, that was the last episode of Tweet Transfity Year 2020.
I hope you enjoyed it. I hope you are excited and anticipating a great 2021. And if I had to get a toast right now, I would say, you know, here's to a new day, a new year and a new beginning. Let's go into this with positivity and just awesome feelings of success for our future and visions for just a great day.
But every day is better than the previous day. And you know, you know, the routine Twitter, IG, Facebook, Instagram, hey, that's at H-E-Y-E-V-T-T-E. You always got the hashtag tweet trends as well. But let me do one more thing.
I want to invite you to a New Year's Eve service with me tonight. My church is having a New Year's Eve service. It starts from 10.30 and goes to, I believe 12.30, 1 o'clock possibly. But you can find them on Facebook or YouTube.
The church is called the Mount. And then another way that you can find them is if you go to your phone and message MountNYE. That's M-O-U-N-T-N-Y-E to the number 7141441. You will not only find out where you can hear slash see tonight's New Year's celebration, but you can also be entered for the different prizes that my church will be giving out for this New Year's Eve celebration.
So it's like Lotto. You got to be in it to win it. So text to 7141 the word or phrase MountNYE. That's M-O-U-N-T-N-Y-E.
And join me for church tonight. And I'll see you guys back here on Tuesday.
