O friends, O friends, any good news? --- This is a continuation of the Persian Voice of the Guru's featuring the Sikh Research Institutes Researcher Asha Marie Kaur. In this transcreation, the original Gurmukhi is followed by an English transcription to guide the Sabad’s (Divine Word) pronunciation in its original form. The Persian recorded in the Guru Granth Sahib, and standard Persian often have different pronunciations of words with the same meaning. The Perso-Arabic transcription is written with spellings that allow a modern-day Persian reader to understand the text. This Sabad portrays the relationship between the Creator and creation. It then slowly cultivates the relationship between the humble devotee and the Divine. Bhagat Namdev highlights the role of the Creator. Being committed to the Divine is not an easy task; it is arduous, but not for someone that lives in alignment with IkOankar (1-Ness).
