O Jesus, I Have Promised: Hymn Bible Study
from Heavenly Harmonies Hosted by 3ABN Australia Radio
What does it really mean to promise to follow Jesus "to the end"? This episode is a hymn Bible study on "O Jesus, I Have Promised," exploring the spiritual battle every believer faces — through the lens of Christ's own temptation in the wilderness. We look at Ephesians 6's picture of spiritual armor, then walk through the three temptations Jesus faced in Luke 4 and Matthew 4: the test of appetite, the test of presumption, and the offer of an easy way out. This scripture behind the hymn devotional shows how Christ's victory over Satan makes our own daily victory possible — not through our own strength, but through His. In this episode, you will hear: - Why the Bible describes the Christian life as spiritual warfare - The three temptations Jesus faced in the wilderness and what they teach us - How Christ's wilderness victory becomes our victory - Why prayer was Jesus' constant weapon against temptation Watch all the episodes on our Youtube channel at this link: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL65y7saKkuQ03mbWZ60o_gNG0rRWVBFey
