In the month’s leading up to our 2-year anniversary (1 Oct 2022), we found ourselves in a nostalgic mood, one of lots of reflection and souvenirs. Thoughts on “what worked” and “what didn’t work” arose accompanied the “what ifs…” the things that we wanted to do initially but just didn’t quite get to developing + pursuing them fully. Let’s just say things we put on the back burner for later dedication of time + energy. Fast forward to our present day and we have a little more time + resources to invest into extracurricular endeavors. In the following month’s we’ll be revisiting + introducing new projects. One of those projects is our “not vinyl” guest playlist series via our Spotify account. The few playlists we have online are dope, we’ve just been really bad at being consistent with these. We’re refreshing the initial ideas and adding an element of audio to enhance the listening experience to provide more background info on the curator. In a nutshell: we invite friends from near + far to put a 13-song playlist together for us and then join us for a quick podcast interview, either in person or via recorded call. In terms of playlist vibes, we really give our guests carte blanche to showcase whatever it is their currently listening to. To kick-off the re-introduction of the not vinyl guest playlists series, we comissioned our homie Thor aka Thorissey of Walk-In Tattoo to curate the first playlist back from hiatus. We invited Thor to drop by the studio last week to record what was supposed to be a 15-min long conversation which ended being closer to 30-min one.
