O:Onryo

In this episode, we discuss Onryo, a type of Japanese Yurei that haunts for vengeance by emotionally and physically torturing their victims with a slow, painful death. We also cover the urban legends and myths of different types of Onryos that Japanese culture has believed in for centuries and the Obon festival season associated with the dead. In the cultural history and origins of this vengeful spirit, we find Onryos to be tragic beings seeking justice for those that did them wrong in their past life.
