The Bay Area's only candidate for California's highest office is facing an uphill battle, with the gubernatorial primary just one week away. Oakland’s police department is hitting a big milestone in its quest to finally get out of the federal oversight its been under for more than two decades. More than a third of San Francisco residents don't own a car, which is why backers of a regional sales tax increase to bail out MUNI and other local transit agencies say TODAY is so important. San Jose’s San Pedro Square is transforming into a massive FIFA World Cup hub starting June 11th. There are youth athletics and pro sports but what about competitions for those of us with a little more "life experience?" In San Francisco a memorial honoring the many sailors and Marines from the USS San Francisco who perished in the Pacific Theater of World War Two stands proud.
