He was recruited by the big boys, but instead decided to stay home, probably because Howard Schnellenberger left his pipe in his living room at some point. As a freshman member of the Miami Hurricanes, he led the team in rushing in the 1984 Orange Bowl against Nebraska to help lead The U to ring #1 and start the dynasty. He was the 3rd overall pick in the 1987 draft of the Houston Oilers and after a 5-year career as a player, he has blossomed off the field as an NFL player personnel executive over the last decade with the Packers, Browns and currently with the Seahawks.
