Obedience Before Understanding

God has never required complete understanding before calling His people to obedience. From Israel's covenant at Mount Sinai to the Pilgrims' signing of the Mayflower Compact, from the Declaration of Independence to Christ's call of His disciples, history consistently demonstrates that faith acts before every question is answered. Obedience is not the reward for perfect knowledge but the expression of trust in a faithful God. As believers walk in faith, God gradually unfolds greater understanding. Liberty, like discipleship, begins when people trust God's character more than their own certainty.
