Obedience by Choice

In this opening lesson, we explore a powerful truth about the Christian walk: obedience is a choice—and it is the starting point of real faith. Faith doesn’t grow in isolation. The Bible tells us in Romans 10:17 that “faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” But hearing alone is not enough. What we do with what we hear matters. When we hear the Word—often through a preacher or teacher—and choose to obey it, something begins to happen. Our obedience strengthens our faith. That growing faith then leads us into deeper obedience. And as that cycle continues, both our faith and our obedience grow stronger together.
