In 1 Samuel 15:22, Samuel reminds Saul that God values obedience more than sacrifice. Saul had clear instructions from the Lord, but he chose partial obedience—allowing the voice of the people to outweigh the voice of God. He thought offering sacrifices would cover up his disobedience, but God rejected empty offerings in place of full obedience.This reminds us that outward acts of worship mean little if our hearts aren’t surrendered to God. True worship is found in daily obedience—listening to His voice above all others, trusting His Word, and following His instructions completely. God desires our hearts and our obedience more than any outward display of religion.Takeaway: Don’t let the opinions of others cause you to miss God’s best. Obedience is always better than sacrifice.
