Obedience to God

Rules can seem optional when breaking them appears harmless or useful. Saul obeys God only where the command suits him, then blames his soldiers and dresses disobedience as worship. The bleating sheep expose a deeper rebellion: Saul trusts his own judgement above God, who made him king and seeks loving obedience. Jesus lived in perfect obedience and bore human rebellion on the cross. His grace awakens grateful love that gladly lives under God’s rule. Bible Reference: 1 Samuel 15 Preacher: KJ Tromp
