Obsessive Love // Single, Ready to Mingle (Part 2)

Pastor Vlad continued the second part of his series based on his book Single Ready to Mingle. He went into further to talk about the danger of obsessive love. How God wants us to have healthy relationships and to have true love for one another. Message Notes: 2 Samuel 13:1-2 Person who is obsessed with you will become possessive of you. Person with Obsessive Love: 1. Can’t live without you 2. Demands unreasonable amounts of your time 3. Ignores other aspects of their own life to you 4. Shows jealously toward anything that competes for your attention 5. Checks up on you when you’re not together 6. Begins with intense emotions, flattery and attention but slowly turns into an unhealthy possessiveness of you 1. Prince will lose his pace if he becomes a prisoner of his passion. 1 Th.4:3-5 Animals are bodies without spirit - ruled by sexuality Angels are spirit without bodies - don’t have sexuality We are spirits with bodies - rule sexuality 2. You can’t control what gets passed on to you but you are responsible for what you activate. Judges 16:4-5 Behind every tomato is a farmer. Behind every Delilah is a Philistine. Behind every sexual sin is an evil spirit. Demonized is not ownership but control. Where you are out of control, demons are in control. Even though demons can’t have Christians but Christians can have demons. 3. Submit your biology to theology. James 4:7; 4. Overthrow nature by the way of nurture. 1 Corinthians 15:33; 2 Timothy 2:22 Avoid fake friends with crazy advice. Avoid pretending something you’re not.
