El Espíritu Santo es el resorte de la escatología cristiana, quien mantiene a la Iglesia en tendencia hacia adelante, hacia el retorno del Señor. Esta vinculación entre pneumatología y escatología es un énfasis que consideramos de gran importancia y pocas veces subrayado. En el pentecostalismo, esta consumación escatológica es adscripta al Espíritu, quien como un don del tiempo final ya gobierna el presente histórico de los creyentes.
