October 13, 2024 "Thanksgiving" (Pastor Mike Koot)

This parable in Matthew 20:1-16 gets us to focus on God's generosity and grace, but in a round about way. Initially we object with all the workers who started early, because we want things to be fair. But the landowner (God) is not fair. The fact is we all like to think that we're the workers who went out early in the morning to work in the vineyard, but the reality is we're most like the one's who come late and get paid the same. When we realize how little we've done, and how much we don't deserve the reward of the Kingdom, what else can we say but thank you.
