from The Common Good Podcast Hosted by Brian From

(00:00-09:24): Christians ‘have a moral obligation to enthusiastically back’ Trump in 2020, according to prominent evangelical. Brian and Ian talk about the dangers of crossing church and state and using faith to get votes. (09:24-18:35): 5 Things Singles Wish Married Couples Knew. Brian and Ian, as spouses, take a look at this Gospel Coalition article by Jennifer Grisham. She covers points that she wishes her married friends would try and understand about the sanctity of singleness. (18:35-28:02): Clutter Is A Trigger Of Stress And Anxiety, Psychologists Say. It is common to panic and get anxious over messy rooms and spaces. Brian and Ian talk about how they try to keep themselves organized, but also have tendencies to keep certain places messy. (28:02-36:52): Nike Jesus trainers injected with 'holy water' from Jordan River, costing $3,000, sell out in minutes. Brian and Ian are appalled and talk about how ridiculous this product is. They are also baffled at how people will spend thousands for something like this. (36:52-47:05): On the topic of opulence and spending a lot of money, Brian and Ian read over this Finance 101 article that lists the 25 wealthiest religious leaders. You might (or might not) be surprised to see who’s on the list. (47:05-57:13): “The Risk of Happiness: An experiment with joy,” Douglas Groothuis writes this perplexing article in Christianity Today. Brian and Ian touch on this and discuss how lamenting during loss is entirely of God, as long as you don’t lose Him along the way. (57:13-1:07:24): A CEO who writes 9,200 employee birthday cards a year explains the value of gratitude. Brian and Ian love this story and reflect on how it feels to receive hand-written sentiments. This guy gets it, and truly knows how to express his gratitude to his employees. (1:07:24-1:13:32): Brian and Ian’s “Weird Stuff We Found on the Internet”: These stories aren’t all whacky and insane, some are amazing. However, if you handcuff yourself on purpose, you probably don’t deserve to handle handcuffs. Reunited and it feels so furry, and Walmart is torching prices. Meanwhile, you’re never too busy (or criminally insane) to take a coffee break.
