ODU and National Futsal Team Keeper Ellie Goodrich

Today, I had the pleasure of reconnecting with Ellie Goodrich — former Alexandria City High School standout and current U.S. Women’s Futsal National Team goalkeeper — to talk about her experience at the inaugural CONCACAF Futsal Qualifier in Guatemala. Ellie started in goal and helped lead the U.S. to a strong showing, finishing the tournament with a 1-1-1 record.We discussed what it was like competing on an international stage and performing at such a high level. Ellie also shared her thoughts on the growth of the women’s futsal game and its exciting future.Looking ahead, she’s entering her third season playing college soccer at Old Dominion University. We talked about her time in Norfolk, how she’s developed over her first two seasons, and what fans can look forward to from the Lady Monarchs in 2025.As always, it was a joy catching up with Ellie. Her journey is still just beginning, but she’s already accomplished so much — and there’s clearly more to come.
