Een nieuwe graandeal zit er voorlopig niet in. Rusland doet pas weer mee, als de exportbeperkingen op Russische landbouwproducten worden opgeheven. Dat heeft Poetin gezegd na een ontmoeting met de Turkse president Erdogan. De Eurocommissaris van Landbouw is met compromisvoorstel gekomen om het Oekraïense graan te verdelen onder lidstaten. De EU wil het Oekraïense graan gaan afkopen met 'transportsubsidies' naar Rotterdam of Litouwen. Landbouwministers zullen deze week in Spanje dit voorstel beoordelen, waaronder Piet Adema. Ook gaat de Noord-Koreaanse leider Kim Jong-Un binnenkort naar Vladivostok om Poetin te ontmoeten. Het Witte Huis bevestigt dit na berichtgeving van The New York Times.
