Of Darkness Life in Modern America: Pretentiousness, Ignorance, and Narcissism is Cool I’m tired of people right now, so I’m getting it out. Nobody has a spine, a lick of emotional intelligence, earnestness, or seems grounded enough to accept responsibility for themselves. At least, no one I’ve ever known. We’re surrounded by culture rotted from the inside out by losers who think it’s uncool to be a human being. Mask your struggles, don’t take life seriously, get dumb and pretty, then ruin yourself for the benefit of nobody but the sociopaths who teach you of validation for being exactly like them. Being mean is real in a land filled with imbeciles who take no accountability for themselves, lie through their teeth, and teach forward principles of narcissistic self-worship as the way to live. Call into question the validity of someone else’s superficial ethos: you’re dead to them. Be honest: you’re a dorky loser. Speak from your heart and own every mistake you make: nobody cares. Get into a tough spot and genuinely need a human response: good luck. Pull yourself up by your bootstraps and get into line, honey. Go to work, take some pills, get your better help, shut up, and learn to pretend you’re cool like everyone else or you’re embarrassing by reflection. Oy vey.
