'Off Grid' : a game about circumvention tech and hacking (emf16)

We would like to give talk and live demo of 'Off Grid', a stealth game about a mishap antihero who falls into the world of hacking. Off Grid forgoes weapons in favour of ingenuity, resourcefulness, and problem solving with gameplay utilising unique mechanics that allow you to manipulate the world and people around you with the data they unwittingly leave behind. The contemporary storyline follows real-world events surrounding data privacy, and the game has been developed to be heavily moddable, allowing players to create their own levels and stories, and even their own hacking tools for within the game. We plan on demoing the game, talking about the mechanics and the world it is set in, and then expanding on the modding tools and what we are hoping players will be able to create.
