Off-island horse owners warning passers-by not to feed their animals. Here's why

from The Andrew Carter Podcast · host CJAD 800

If you've ever driven through Saint-Lazare, you've probably noticed horses grazing peacefully behind fences. It's a beautiful part of living in that community, and for many people, the temptation is to walk over and offer them a carrot or an apple. But horse owners are warning that this well-meaning gesture can actually be dangerous. A Facebook post from one local horse owner has been getting a lot of attention after she reminded residents that feeding horses without permission can lead to serious health problems and in some cases, even be life-threatening. Lindsay Louise Ward Hernandez, a lifelong horse enthusiast and horse owner in Saint-Lazare spoke to Ken Connors.
