Off on a Comet Book 1 Chapter 11

In which the crew of the Dobryna explores a desolate and transformed Mediterranean coastline, discovering that entire cities and natural landmarks have vanished beneath a mysteriously levelled sea. Their journey leads them to a solitary island crowned by a deserted Arabian-style mosque, within which lies the sanctified tomb of St. Louis, the solitary relic shining with an oil lamp that defies the surrounding desolation.
