OFFICE HOURS: Holding Our Employers Accountable as We Work to Create Supportive Environments For Working Mothers

from PowerToFly · host Nicole Felter

By Pilar McDonald and Lola McAllister. As college students, it can be exhausting thinking about the looming decisions of having children and being able to balance that with our career aspirations. While it is an added stress, we both feel that we cannot step back and take the status quo in terms of gender norms in the workplace and home. We are here to stand up for working mothers now and to reshape workforce expectations so that other women like us can dream to have our ideal careers and families. In this chat, we want you to walk away with: Actionable ideas to advocate for in your workplaces to have a more supportive environment for working women Steps on how to support other women in your workplaces/finding a workplace ally Feel validated in your anger/overwhelm and work together to feel hopeful for the change that we can make in the future
