Just after midnight on Wednesday, a patrol car in Egg Harbor Township struck a 58-year-old pedestrian, Alvin Powers, on the Black Horse Pike. Officer William Danz, who was driving eastbound, stopped immediately and stayed with Powers until paramedics arrived.
