Officers open fire on truck driver outside Coast Guard base

At around 10 p.m., the U-Haul truck backed toward security personnel at the base entrance. Officers fired at the vehicle after the driver ignored commands to stop and the vehicle's actions were deemed a direct threat to safety. The driver, identified as an illegal immigrant, was wounded and taken to a hospital before being released into police custody. Reports also indicate two bystanders were hit by the truck, but this has not been confirmed by authorities.
