Ogden Campus: God the Father Pt. 3 - God Has a Long Nose
from Crossroads Go · host Crossroads Church
Exodus 34:6-7 is the first description of God’s attributes found in Scripture, and it’s the most referenced passage in the entire Bible. Exodus 34:6-7 NIV - 6 And he passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, “The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, 7 maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion, and sin. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children and their children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation.” What does it mean for God to be slow to anger? The Hebrew phrase for “slow to anger” literally means “long of nose.” God’s anger is always a revelation of something or someone He loves.
