Oh Brave New Content!

Welcome to the first 2024 episode of "Sure Look, Sure Listen," the podcast taking a pop at culture. This episode delves into a variety of topics, beginning with Steven Yeun's unexpected departure from Thunderbolts. Is it related to the writer's strike, or is there more to it? We discuss his decision, its implications, and what it means for the franchise's future. Then it is on to Rebel Moon. We have a harsh opinion of this film, discussing its plot, execution, and whether it stands alone in the grand scheme of sci-fi films or is simply a carbon copy of all of them. Did Zack Snyder hit the mark or miss it by a mile? Tune in to find out (spoiler: he did.) We also explore the intriguing world of What If Season 2. From the hits and misses to the unexpected character arcs, we leave no stone unturned. And let's not forget our take on the Golden Globes—the controversies, the snubs, and everything in between. But that's not all. We pose a crucial question: Is pop culture dead? In a world brimming with remakes and reboots, what is the state of creativity and originality in entertainment? Join us for these discussions and more, including our thoughts on what to look forward to in 2024. 1:30 Stephen Yeun is no longer Marvel’s Sentry 5:15 Rebel Moon: Kill it with Fire 16:30 Was What If?
