Ohios New THC Drink Ban: Breweries Struggle, Advocates Praise Safety Measures Starting this Friday, Ohio businesses selling THC-infused drinks will face a significant challenge as theyre banned from selling these products. The new law, part of Senate Bill fifty-six, limits sales to licensed marijuana dispensaries only. This change affects breweries and stores offering THC seltzers as an alternative to alcohol. Four Ohio breweries, including Fifty West Brewing Company, have filed a lawsuit against the rule, with business owners expressing confusion and concern among customers. Sales have surged as people rush to stock up. Meanwhile, other breweries that never sold THC drinks feel relieved, having stuck to traditional beer amid falling alcohol sales, particularly among younger crowds. Advocates with the Ohio Cannabis Coalition support the law, arguing it keeps intoxicating THC away from kids and enhances public safety by ending sales at thousands of unregulated spots. The lawsuits outcome remains uncertain, and the governors office has not commented further. Breweries hope for a favorable ruling but are preparing to adapt if necessary.
