Ohio State Football 2023: Are The Buckeyes Elite? | College Football 2023
from College Football with Sam · host Samuel Recker
How good is Ohio State Football? Are the 2023 Buckeyes elite, or are they overrated? Ryan Day won another Top 10 matchup in Week 4 against Notre Dame, and now with a 4-0 record, the Buckeyes only have conference games ahead of them. I think Ohio State has an elite defense this season, but that won't be enough to help them win the Big Ten or a National Title unless their offense continues to improve. Ohio State's defense is only allowing 9.0 points per game and 0.140 points per play, which are good for 2nd best in all of College Football. Defensive backs Denzel Burke and Josh Proctor have had NFL-caliber performances and the defensive tackle and linebacker room has impressed. However, the offense remains inconsistent, scoring 34.3 points per game and only scoring more than 35 points in one game. Quarterback Kyle McCord has improved through 4 games, but his accuracy and decision-making still need improvement. I think Ohio State Football is one of the four best teams in the country, but rival Michigan still remains a step ahead.
