Ohio State beat Notre Dame in a defensive battle last night, winning by a score of 21 to 10. Both teams struggled on offense, and surprisingly, looked lights out on defense. Notre Dame found ways to limit Ohio State QB CJ Stroud, holding him to 223 passing yards and 2 touchdowns (Stroud had been passing for 300-400 yards per game at the end of 2021). At the end of the day, Ohio State's powerful run game and staunch defense are what won them this game. The Buckeye defense had 3 sacks against a physical Notre Dame OL. The Irish offense struggled from the start, and although they led Ohio State at some point in the game, QB Tyler Buchner and RB Austin Estime were shut down from the beginning of the second quarter.
