Ohio State vs Rutgers Preview + Prediction | College Football 2023

Rutgers is coming off a bye week, and their opponent this week is the Ryan Day-led Ohio State Buckeyes. Ohio State Football is undefeated and ranked No.1 in the first College Football Playoff rankings of the 2023 season. They are known for their elite defense and passing game featuring the marvelous Marvin Harrison Jr. Rutgers, on the other hand, is known for pounding the rock, rushing for 178.8 yards per game while passing for less than 150. With an extra week to prepare, I imagine Greg Schiano will have a solid game plan entering this matchup, and I would not be surprised to see a trick play and/or a well-executed opening drive. My prediction for this game is that Rutgers Football competes with the Ohio State Buckeyes, but ultimately falls short due to Ohio State Football's superior talent, coaching, and passing offense. I think both offenses will total over 300 yards, but Rutgers' one-dimensional offense will cost them in the redzone, while Marvin Harrison Jr, Cade Stover, and Emeka Egbuka will give Ohio State's passing offense the opportunity to take over from TreVeyon Henderson and the ground game.
