Ohio Village Gets Major Makeover | Columbus News
from Columbus News Today | 2 Min News | The Daily News Now!
Ohio Village is getting a major makeover, and you can catch a sneak peek at the Ohio State Fair—where new brick streets, sidewalks, and 250 trees are transforming the eight-and-a-half-acre site. The central village green now features paths to a gazebo, spotlighting the American House Hotel, while a new restroom and beer garden are in the works. Historic touches include a 1920s soda fountain donated from a Cleveland pharmacy, installed beside its original wooden counter. Interpreters will still wear period costumes but chat more like themselves. The full upgrade won’t open to daily visitors until 2027, but special events like Halloween and Holiday celebrations will start soon. The fair runs July 29–August 9—visit ohiohistory.org for updates.
