Oil Rallies 14.4% as Silver Falls 6.4% My Market Outlook ~ Monday Market Moves

from In it to Win it · host Steve Barton

📩 Free Newsletter 📈 Technical Analysis for Beginners 🌎 Travel Channel Recording Date 7-17-2026. The S&P 500 fell 1.6%, lost both the 20 day and 50 day moving averages, and left me with a lower bias after Friday's breakdown. The U.S. dollar slipped 0.2%, but I still see a possible bull flag, while the 10-year yield fell 0.3% and remains inside a multiyear triangle that could eventually produce a sharp move. Gold dropped 2.3%, and the chart looks more like a bear flag than a convincing double bottom, so I am watching $4,000 first and deeper support near $3,700 and $3,500 if a liquidity driven washout develops. I also explain how I am staging limit orders in PHYS, GDX, and GDXJ rather than trying to guess the exact bottom, with the biggest bids reserved for a fast capitulation move. Silver fell 6.4% and is approaching major support around $52 to $54, although I see a broader possible floor between $48 and $54, with lower buy zones also discussed for PSLV and SIL. Copper slipped 0.3%, and I am treating its current structure as a bear flag unless it can clear roughly $6.44, while COPX may offer better entries around $70 and the low $60s. Uranium was nearly flat, but the Sprott Physical Uranium Trust remained at a 9.9% discount while holding 81.4 million pounds, and URNM fell 9.5%, which is exactly the kind of seasonal weakness I want for building positions. Energy was the clear leader as WTI surged 14.4% and Brent gained 17.4%, though I am watching resistance near $85 for WTI and $90 to $92 for Brent while XLE continues forming a larger bullish pattern. I finish with natural gas, coal, platinum, palladium, nickel, PICK, and Bitcoin, where palladium is attempting a breakout, nickel futures gained 2.2%, PICK remains a diversified core commodities position, and Bitcoin may bounce toward $65,000 to $66,000 even though I still see greater long term downside risk.   Key Insights in this episode ✅ The S&P 500 fell 1.6% and lost key moving averages. ✅ Gold dropped 2.3% with deeper support near $3,700 and $3,500. ✅ Silver slid 6.4% toward support between $48 and $54. ✅ URNM fell 9.5% while physical uranium traded at a 9.9% discount. ✅ WTI surged 14.4% and Brent gained 17.4% into resistance. ✅ Bitcoin faces resistance between $65,000 and $66,000.   Tools for Success that I Love and find Helpful / Affiliates: Technical Analysis Series  Rule Symposium 2026 Rule Classroom (Free)  Rule Classroom Plus (2 Free Months)  TradingView (Free) Lobo's Weekly Recap (Free) Uranium Insider Newsletter   Chapters 0:00 S&P 500 Breakdown Dollar Outlook And Treasury Yield Setup 03:51 Gold Bear Flag Liquidity Risk And Miner Buy Levels 08:55 Silver Selloff Major Support And Miner Entry Targets 13:30 Copper Bear Flag COPX Support And Price Resistance 15:01 Uranium Discount URNM Selloff And Seasonal Buying Opportunity 16:47 WTI And Brent Oil Surge With Energy Bull Flags 19:13 Natural Gas Weakness And FCG Support Setup 21:13 Coal Market Trends Demand Risk And ETF Buy Zone 23:28 Platinum Uncertainty And Palladium Breakout Potential 25:14 Nickel Rebound PICK ETF And Diversified Mining Strategy 29:14 Bitcoin Bounce Potential And Long Term Downside Risk   DISCLAIMER: I am not a financial advisor.
