Oilers, divisive decisions, a proxy for 'heart only' decisions?

The Oilers have the 3 center model all signed up, with Leon Draisaitl having signed his 8-year x $8.5M contract. Are they in a cap crunch because of McDavid and Draisaitl or are there other contracts that will see RNJ moved out of Edmonton?  Matt Cullen is back in Minnesota, great for the Wild, holes are starting to get deeper for Pittsburgh. They could get worse with a Hornqvist extension too!
