Oilers Sign Formenton Amid Fan Outcry | Calgary News

The Edmonton Oilers just signed Alex Formenton to a one-year, $850K deal — a move sparking outrage after he was among five former world junior players acquitted of sexual assault in 2018. The Oilers stand by their decision, citing NHL and Hockey Canada clearances, but fans are divided — and the pressure is mounting.
