Oilers Signing Sparks Fan Outcry | Calgary News

The Edmonton Oilers’ signing of Alex Formenton, a former world junior star facing sexual assault allegations that were later dropped, has ignited fierce backlash from fans — most notably “Mama Stanley,” a beloved superfan and survivor who announced she’ll no longer support the team. The Oilers remain silent beyond the deal, while Formenton calls it a hard-won opportunity — leaving fans divided and the future of team loyalty uncertain.
