Old Highway 2 Historic Trail

The crowds flock to Kootenai Falls on sunny summer days, but head across the road and you’ll have the Old Highway 2 Historic Trail all to yourself. While you can’t drive your Model T here anymore, this hand-built road must have been a hair-raising drive when it was the primary route between Libby and Troy. Today, it’s a lovely way to stretch your legs while you enjoy small springs, fossils, and a stunning overlook of the Kootenai Falls river gorge.
