Well, good morning, everyone. I hope you're all having a great weekend so far, but I really hope you're enjoying the series that we're in, the exchanged life. Man, what a powerful, powerful series this is. If you don't know, we're talking about this exchanged life, the nine exchanges that took place at the cross when Jesus died for us.
He died for us, and these are the things that happened because of that. But before we get into this, I want to begin by saying something that's a little bold, and perhaps many of you have not heard before, and it's that without the cross, there's actually no Christianity. See, some of you might have a problem with that because yes, Jesus was the Son of God. Yes, he came down from heaven, he walked on the earth.
He performed many signs and miracles. He taught wonderful, great, powerful things. But if he had just gone back up to heaven from that, we would have just had the best book ever, written from the best teacher that ever spoke to us, right? But it's because he took all of our sins onto himself, the things that we should have been punished for, took them with him onto the cross, he died our death.
And then he took them with him into the grave, and then rose again without them. And it's because of this action that we get to be called Christians and have a new life. That exchange is the most critical exchange of all. Without cross, there would not be Christianity.
And the reason we had to have the cross is because of our sin. He paid that price for our sin. You see, sin is a real issue, and sin must be purged out of us. It must be punished.
So we have nine exchanges that took place at the cross. So far, we've talked about two of them, the first one being that Jesus was punished, so I could be forgiven. The second one was Jesus died our death, so that we might share in his life. So I wanna ask you guys a couple of questions.
If you still feel like you're being punished for your sins, if you still feel like you're not forgiven or you're struggling to forgive someone else, maybe even yourself, go back and listen to week one. If you still feel like you're struggling with some spiritual or emotional death, and you're not walking out and living and experiencing some of that great life that Jesus has in store for you, that God wants you to have because of his son, go back and listen to week two. You see, when you and I fully internalize, and understand and grasp everything that we receive from the cross, only then can we break free from generational sins and live righteously. We can do that.
Only then can we overcome depression. If you feel like depression is overcoming you, this is your answer. You can break free from depression. Be filled with God's peace, God's joy, amen.
Broken marriages and families can be restored, completely restored, don't lose faith in them. Keep praying, keep fighting. You will no longer be bound by the chains of the word said to you in your past. You can be set free from guilt, set free from shame, and set free from hurts.
They don't have to plague you anymore. All of these exchanges are truths in God's word, truths that are available to every born-again believer. It doesn't matter how you feel. It doesn't matter whether you feel like you deserve it, whether you feel like that true for you or not, this is God's word, it is true for you.
Receive it because God wants you to, receive it because Jesus paid the price for you to have it. Don't reject it, amen. Claim these truths for your life. So this morning we're gonna talk about exchange number three.
And up to now we've been looking at what the cross has done for us, but today we're gonna talk about what the cross can do in us, in our hearts, in our minds. So here's exchange number three. Our old man died in Jesus, so the new man might live in us. Amen.
What is the old man? The old man is our old self, our sin self. That part of us that struggled with sin constantly, that part of us that was a slave to sin, that part of us that ruled who we were before we were born-again believer. But let's look closer at the biblical concept from scripture to see what God wants us to hear from this.
Second Corinthians 5, 17 says, therefore if anyone, everyone say that with me, anyone, that means all of us, no matter how you feel, this is your truth. Therefore if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come. It happened. The old has gone, the new is here.
My old man died, the new man has come to life. This is why we say you're a born-again believer, because you are actually born-again in Christ. If you are a believer, the old is gone, the new is here. Your new nature is here.
See, God reconciled the world to himself. See, Jesus died for all of us so that we could live for him. We no longer live for ourselves. We live for Christ.
The old things, they passed away. They're gone. We were all made new in Christ. You're going to hear me repeating a lot of these things today.
It's because they need to be seated deep within us, amen? Please hear this and receive it all the way to the depths of your core. We need to believe this with everything we have. So this begs for some questions.
And you'll know I love asking all questions. So what about you? When you look back at the beginning of your life with God, when you became a born-again believer, until now, are you any different? One person?
I didn't actually ask for a response. But think about this. Are you any different? But please don't stop.
Do you live differently? Do you think differently? Not just when you talk differently to your Christian friends. Do you think differently in your mind?
Do you believe differently than before you were a Christian? What are your priorities? Do they line up with old you or do they line up with Jesus? What do you spend your time on?
What do you focus on? What really bothers you in your heart? Is it what God wants you to be bothered by? Or what your old self, what the world, what Satan wants you to be distracted by?
Are you still the old man or woman needing to be made new in Christ? See, when I look back at my life, I have different friends now. Almost everything is different about my life. And it's not because I shunned them, pushed them away and rejected them.
I started making better choices and living a better life, I believe. And they just drift away. They didn't change. Or they went in a different direction altogether.
I talk differently. I think differently. Different things are a priority for me. And those priorities that I have are usually prayed over because I want to focus on what God wants me to focus on.
Not what the world is focusing on. Not what anything else. Not what social media or the news is telling me to focus on. Oh, what God wants me to focus on so we can advance his kingdom.
I grabbed a hold of what 2 Corinthians 5, 17 says. And I started down a different path in life. And we can all do this. We can all have this different path in life.
Because Jesus made me a new creation. And I have stayed in Jesus as this new creation. I didn't receive this as a born-again believer. And then see that the week was coming, unzip it, take it off and hang it up until Sunday.
Come on. We need to be this every day. Walk in this and stay in Jesus. That's where the God's grace is.
You're not in Jesus on Sunday and then in the world every other day of the week. You're outside of God's grace. It's going to get rough for you. So this morning, what I want to look at is the old man versus the new man.
Old man versus the new man. Who is this old man? The old self. This old man is the old self that was a slave to sin.
Couldn't beat it. Couldn't stop. Couldn't do things the right way. You were a slave.
It ruled you. This old self ruled you. And there's a lot of misconceptions on this. There's a lot of debating on this topic regarding born-again believers and the old man.
You've probably heard some people say, just because you're Christian doesn't mean you don't have the old man living within you. You heard that before? Or maybe you've heard someone say, well, I'm just a sinner saved by grace. No, you're not.
That's a lie. And if you've said that before, no offense, but here's your new truth. Maybe you've heard the song where a guy says, I'm just a long-haired son of a sinner. No, you're not.
Not if you're a born-again believer. You have a new identity. And I'm going to step on some toes here with this song, because I know it's real popular. But the lyrics say, I'll bring my hard-fought, heartfelt, Ben through Hell, hallelujah.
I'm sorry, but that is not a way of living. That might be an OK song for a temporary struggle. But God said, our father God in heaven said, my yoke is light. Those two things don't line up.
God's way of doing things is easy. God's way is a good way. It's a better way. And when we live like His way, we feel that peace, that joy, that easy, that light.
So I'm going to debunk all of those statements today, not with my opinions, but with the word of God, because we are no longer sinners. We are no longer our past. And if some of you are struggling with that, and you say, well, technically, Chris, if I sin, that makes me a sinner. Well, let me ask you a question.
How many people here drink coffee? Are you coffee? OK. OK.
If I go in my backyard and I kick a soccer ball, does that make a professional soccer player? No. We all are a new creation in Christ. We are no longer sinners.
We may make a poor choice every once in a while. And let it remind you, it's a choice. If you're struggling with sin, look at your choices. If you're struggling to get past it, what are you choosing leading up to it?
Are you fighting back when that temptation begins to stir, when anger stirs, when greed stirs, pride, lust, whatever it may be, when it begins to stir, do you begin to fight? Do you get on your knees? Do you get into prayer and you say, Lord, I don't want to fight this anymore. I give it to you.
I surrender to you. What do you want me to do instead of this sin? Do the opposite of that. We are new creations.
You know what we are now? We're saints. I know I hear Lee Bryant say it every time he preaches. But it's for a reason.
As a born-again believer, you are a saint. Can everyone say that today? I am a saint. I am a saint.
There you go. That's your new name. You're no longer a sinner. You are a saint.
Because Colossian 113 says, for he has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of his dear son. We used to be in a kingdom of darkness before we were saved. We looked like darkness. We were surrounded by darkness.
We identified with darkness. That's who we were. But God pulled us out of that darkness. He cleansed us of all unrighteousness and he put us into a new kingdom.
A whole new family with a whole new name. A new look, new everything, a new way of living. And then he filled it with his grace, his power, his forgiveness, his ability and his strength. Too many people say, I can't do this on my own.
I'm not strong enough. That's right. We were designed to fail so that we would know we need to lean on God. And in here in this new kingdom of light, we have his strength.
And you see, Satan keeps reminding you of your faults. But you're here in the new kingdom. Stop listening. Satan keeps reminding you of your hurts, of your weaknesses, of your scars.
He wants you to identify yourself with your scars. But Jesus says, no, identify yourself with my scars. I say who you are. You are mine.
You're in a new kingdom. Believe that, saints, with everything you have all the way through you. We are new in Jesus because of the cross. We are adopted sons and daughters of the Lord most high.
That's your new identity. That's who you are now. You are saints. The old man is a sinful nature that we inherited from Adam.
It's not our faults. It's Adams. We can blind them when we get to heaven. Eve was deceived.
Adam stands. OK? So listen, Bible scholars call this the old Adam. And Adam didn't have any children before he sinned, before he was a rebel, and before he rebelled against God and got kicked out of the garden.
So because of this, every descendant of Adam is born with a rebel within. We're born with what we call the Adantic nature. And it doesn't matter how young or old you are, how smart you are or how smart you're not. This is within you.
Within every one of us, we're born with it, OK? There's a rebel born inside each and every one of us at birth. And something must be done about it. So let's take a look at the book of Romans.
Paul is speaking to you. He's writing to the Romans here. And he's talking to them before they know Christ. He's describing what they are like before Christ.
This, actually, we know he's talking to the Romans, but this is also us before Christ, right? Because we are no different. We are no better. In Romans chapter 3, verses 10, Paul begins, as it is written, there is no righteous person, not even one.
There is no one who understands. There is no one who seeks out God. Not one of us went running to God. You see that?
But God came running for us. And this point is made clear. He says, they have all turned aside. Together they have become corrupt.
There is no one who does good. There is not even one. And you continue to describe them as how they lie. They cheat.
They steal. They're not going to be too late to see. They plot against one another. There is no goodness in us before Christ.
We might do something good as a good person. And that's great. But you're not doing anything that has eternal value without Jesus. You could do the non-Christian.
You could do the greatest good thing, but it will only last so long. But as a Christian, as a born-again believer, with Jesus within you doing what he wants, you could do the smallest thing in Christ, and it could have eternal good consequences. But we see this negative. We see this bad that Paul is talking about, even in young children.
Remember I said we're born with it? I mean, I'll be it to a lesser extent, yes. But in Proverbs chapter 22, verse 15, it says, foolishness is bound up in the heart. So foolishness must be disciplined out and the good encouraged in.
And some of you might struggle with that. They're like, no, Christ, children are innocent. They're not evil. They're not bad.
Well, foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child. Spare the rod, spoil the child. We're all born with this a dandock nature. So something must be done about it.
Choices must be made for the children, and we must make choices. But it doesn't matter how much we discipline them. We can't purge that foolishness out of children ourselves. But God can't.
God can. You can tell a child to come here and they're going to turn and run. You can tell a child to sit and they're going to say, they're going to jump. They're going to do whatever they want to do.
All right? And too many of us are like that the same way with God. We can't fully eradicate that rebel within them. And the Bible calls this rebel the old man.
And so God has a plan for this. God's plan is to replace the old man with the new man. Our sin nature with Jesus's nature. That's what we're doing.
It's a complete replacement of sin nature for Jesus's nature. In Matthew 3, 10, John, the bad is declares. Even now the axe is laid to the root of the trees. Even now the axe is laid to the root of the trees.
We're going to explain all that. See this verse being in Matthew 3, 10, is at the beginning of the gospel. And it's a great verse for the beginning of the gospel. See, John the bad is speaking about Jesus, about Jesus coming.
And he is declaring, John is declaring that he, Jesus will lay the axe to the root of the trees. And this is a really fascinating one to look in because the word root and the word radical come from the same Latin word, radix. And this is really significant because the most radical message to ever come to the human race is the gospel of Jesus. The gospel of God is king of the myth, not.
But you see, the radical gospel doesn't just trim the branches a little bit. It doesn't just trim the branches of our sin. It doesn't just saw a few branches off. It doesn't just cut our sin tree down at the trunk.
No. The radical gospel is more radical than that, more aggressive than that. You see, the gospel deals with the root. You ever heard the phrase that gets to the root of the problem?
Well, Jesus' gospel does that. The root here is our rebellion against God. Our rebellion. That's what sin is.
We're rebelling against God Almighty, our Creator, the one who gave us life. Every time we sin, we're rebelling against Him. We're making a choice. And God has only one remedy for that rebel.
And it's not just sin into Sunday school, teaching the golden rule or having them write scripture. No. He executes Him. Yeah, I said it.
He executes the rebel. Well, that sounds harsh. My God is tender and loving. Read your whole Bible.
He's a fierce warrior too. But He wants to save us in the way to save us is to execute that rebellious nature. But here's the good news. That execution that we might feel afraid of at this moment already took place at the cross with Jesus.
It already took place. Jesus paid the price for us. John 3 16 says, for God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son. Gave Him unto death.
For us. For the struggle that we have with our sin nature. So that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life. That's all we have to do is believe in Him.
There's no works we can do that get us everlasting life. Just believe in Jesus. Confess our sin. Follow Him as our Lord and Savior.
And then we get everlasting life. It's not by our own works. Jesus took our sin. Our sin nature.
What we call our flesh. Took it all upon Himself on the cross. And He held everyone's sin with Him. And He took it down to the grave.
And He died with it. But then He left the sin there. And He rose again. Knew.
Holy and righteous. Giving us the opportunity to do the same thing to leave our sin in a grave and rise new and be a new creation. To be a born again believer in Christ. We get that because of Jesus.
He paid the price. Let's get back in the book of Romans 6 verses 5. It reads, for if we have become united with Him, that's Jesus. In the likeness of His death, I'm going to stop right there.
How do we become like Jesus in the likeness of His death? Jesus left sin dead in the grave and rose anew. We need to leave our sin dead in the grave and rise anew. Stop picking it back up.
The devil might remind you of it and say, you did this. This is you. No, reject it. It's dead and gone.
Leave it in the grave. Be like Jesus in that aspect. If we do that, here's what happens. Certainly, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection.
Leave your sin in the grave and be like Jesus in the resurrection. Righteous, holy saints. Hope I still mess up and sin. Then repent.
Put it behind you. Try harder. Learn from it. Fight back against it.
You have a new identity. It continues to say, for we know that our old self, also our old punishment, our old guilt, our old shame was crucified with Jesus. So that our body of sin might be done away with so that we should, should means we have something to do. So that we should no longer be slaves to sin because anyone who has died has been freed from sin.
We've been set free. Yes. Clap for that. We've been set free.
You've been set free. Even so consider yourselves. Here's what we are to do. Remember the should a moment ago?
Even so consider yourselves to be dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. Consider yourselves dead to sin. Sin is dead to you. We need our body of sin done away with so that the body of His life is what we live with.
We can't do both at the same time. We can't. Not successfully. You're successfully sinning or you're successfully righteous.
Come on. It's not simple. God's plan is to replace the old man with the new man. Our old nature, our sin nature with His nature.
Well, that's tough, Chris. I don't think you understand. It's too hard for me. It's too difficult.
It doesn't feel humanly possible. You're right. It's not. It's divinely possible.
Christ gives us the strength. I can do all things in Christ. Everyone say, all. All.
Where did you struggle though? I'm going to do all things in Christ who gives me strength. It's divinely possible in Jesus. And He gave us the Holy Spirit to help us with that.
But here's the problem. Some of us hear that and still don't believe what I just said. Because you still continue to struggle and have sin issues. You still continue to default to some sins.
You fall victim to them. You can't seem to shake them. You don't feel freed from them. You still feel bound to it with chains.
Chains that have no locks on them. You still feel unable to move or change from that way of living. Move your feet. Get to praying.
Hit your knees. Listen. This is no longer a struggle for you. That sin nature was murdered, was killed, was crucified.
It's dead. It's a corpse. But you can make a choice. You can just make the right choice.
Listen. You are freed from sin. You are set free. And God said, I will never allow you to be tempted beyond your ability.
You'll never be tempted beyond your ability to resist it. To say no. To walk away from it. To fight it off.
You'll never be tempted beyond your ability as long as you're in Christ. Right? Because if you're on your own, yeah, you're going to fall. It's going to happen.
We've all been there. We're all human. But if you're in Christ, you'll never be tempted beyond your ability. And God makes it even easier.
He says, I'll give you a way out. Before Satan's even finished presenting this temptation to you, God's already orchestrated. He says, just stay in me. Stay in me.
It won't be too much for you. I'll give you a way out. Do we all see that? It's our new life.
This is what happened with the cross. It's available to every single one of us. Let's look at verse 6 again. We are slaves to sin.
Until we are crucified with Christ. Until our sin nature, we put it up on the cross. We won't be freed from sin. Hang your old man on the cross.
I don't care how many times a devil reminds you of that nature. I don't care how many times a devil tempts you, brings it up, or shows you who you used to be. Take that corpse off and you put it on the cross where it belongs. Put it back in the grave where Jesus left it.
It's not yours. Your action is to resist it. Let it go. Hang it up.
And you say, wait a second, Christ. Didn't that happen when I was born again? Then that already just happened for me? Technically yes.
If we were born again, our old man was crucified with Jesus. But the devil loves to grab that corpse and go, hey, catch, that's who you are. And why do so many of us go, oh, you're right. This is me.
Why? We don't have to. In our pride, in our anger, in our hurt, in our greed, in the lust. Anything.
It's not ours. It's dead. Throw it back down. If we are born again, then our old man was crucified with him.
That's historical fact. But we won't feel that experience working out in our lives. And so we know it. You have to know it.
Stop listening to the doubt. You have to believe it all the way in your heart. Don't believe the doubt. Don't believe the lies.
Don't believe that fear and insecurity. Believe this truth and walk in it. Walk in it every day with freedom. We should all be jumping for joy every day.
You wake up in the morning, the devil's at the foot of your bed trying to throw this stuff back on you. You can just walk on past him. You can put the armor of God on you and you can believe what Jesus says about you instead. He says, I prayed the price for you.
You're free. What I did is enough. We walk in it by letting that corpse go. And see when Paul is talking to the Romans here, he's not just speaking about past sins because those who are in our past.
We were pent. God forgives us they're done. Okay? Everyone knows past sins are behind you.
What we're talking about is what we're doing today. What we're living out right now. This is where the struggle is to make sure we don't have more of our future doesn't have more past sins in it, right? So we need to do away with that sin itself.
That old man. He's supposed to be dead. Or if you've been water baptized under a baptismal somewhere. Come on.
I love how big that grape side is. That's where your old self is. Stop digging him up just because the devil reminds you where he's located. Don't do it anymore.
But listen, if you still have some of that rebel nature inside of you, you're still struggling with it. And yeah, you'll go on sinning far too often. No one says we're going to be perfect. Okay?
Look, we can't do that. But we shouldn't be sinning as often as far as many of us do. We know the facts. Your old man, your rebel was crucified with Jesus.
Okay? God did that. But you must reckon yourself to be dead to your old man. You must believe it through to your core.
You must do that. That's our action. We have to believe it first before we can walk it out. Romans 6 and 11 says, wrecking yourself to be dead indeed to sin.
Wrecking yourselves. I like that word. It's got conviction with it. So what does this mean?
How do we wrecking ourselves dead to sin? And it's simply this, sin no more has attraction for you. Sin is not attracting to you anymore. Okay?
Now listen, search your hearts. If there is some sin issue in your life that is still attracted to you, get in prayer over it. Talk to your heavenly father about it. Have you ever heard of prayer warfare?
It's real. Get in it. It's good. You know why?
You're going to win. We know the ending of the story. Be in prayer about it. Say, Lord God, I don't want this sin to be appealing to me anymore.
So I surrender to you. Oh, that song we were singing earlier. I surrender. I want to know you more.
Man, if that could be the end of our life, I surrender my old man. I surrender my wants, my needs. I want to know you more, Lord, because the more we know about him, the better we're living this life. Are you praying against the sin that has attraction for you in your life?
It shouldn't anymore. It should be an incident or a momentary bad choice. Because by the way, sin has no more power over you. There's no more power there.
Just pray about making a better choice. Let's look at the message translation of the same verse, Romans 6, 11. It says, You are dead to sin and alive to God. That's what Jesus did.
So from now on, think of it this way. Sin speaks a dead language that means nothing to you. God speaks your mother tongue and you hang on every word. Do you know what the voice of sin sounds like?
Can you recognize it when it's coming up in your life? I've said it before. I'll say it again. It carries all the characteristics of the devil with it.
Fear, doubt, insecurity, confusion, hatred, sadness. It's the voice of sin. Reject it. Amen?
So when sin speaks, do you still listen? Or do you ignore it? Do you push it off? When that small boy says, let him have it, he deserves it.
Do you listen or do you fight? Are you a prayer warrior? You can be. Start today.
We should be. That's why God talks about having the armor of God. We're at war with the enemy and it's spiritual. When that small boy says, it's okay.
Go ahead and do it. No one's looking. No one else will get hurt. That's a lie.
Do you resist and watch Satan flee from you? Laugh at him all he runs away. God says it. Resist him and he will flee from you.
And you can laugh at him. Because Jesus has already won. Jesus has already defeated him. We just need to walk in Jesus.
So I'm going to give us two simple things that will help us on this. Help us live this out in our life, okay? We're almost done, I promise. Number one, put the old man off.
Take him off. Hang him off on the cross. Don't wear that or accept that as your identity. No one believe who you are.
You're a saint. Ephesians 4, chapter 22, 24 says, put off the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts. Put him off. Hang him on the cross.
Put him off and put on the armor of God. Take off that sin, that temptation, that struggle and say, instead Lord, I put on your armor. The helmet of salvation, my mind and my thoughts belong to you. I will think on heavenly things.
The chest plate of righteousness, my heart belongs to you, my feelings. My feelings, what I allow myself to feel and dwell on belong to you Lord. I will feel your joy in your love. The belt of truth that frees me from Satan's lies.
The boots of the gospel of peace, I will stand firm on your word. You are my foundation Lord and I will not stumble where you lead me. The shield of faith that protects me from the fiery darts of the enemy protects me and my family and the sword of the spirit to fight back against the enemy. It's not people.
It's the enemy. Sometimes people might feel like the enemy. But it's Satan that work in them. It's a struggle they're having.
That's who you're fighting against is the devil, the sword of the spirit, the word of God, whether it's his reimer, his logos word, something he spoke unto you or something he's written in his word. Those are powerful scriptures you can use against the enemy. All right? Put off the old man put on the armor of God.
Don't carry that dead corpse around with you. Ignore the devil when he brings it up. And anytime you see him hanging around, beat the tar out of him. I'm serious.
When you see that old man pop up that corpse, get to wailing. Okay? Have spiritual bloody knuckles over this. Don't be passive.
Don't let the enemy trip you up with this. Stand firm and fight. You're going to win. He's already dead.
But you need to go through the action of beating up the old you. You need to go through the action of realizing, making real in your heart and in your life that that old nature is dead to you. Fight it off. Be brutal to him.
Any time he shows his face. All right. Number two, make no provision for the old man. Romans 1314 says, put on the Lord Jesus Christ and make no provision for the flesh to fulfill its lusts.
Make no provision for the flesh. What does that mean? What are provisions it is to provide for? Think of it like this way.
Think groceries. Okay? Everyone knows groceries. Okay?
Don't buy groceries for the old man. Don't put things in your life or do things that feed the old man. Okay? A pastor once told a story about a minister in his church who was talking to one of the people of his congregation.
And he asked the guy. He said, hey, how are you doing today? And the guy said, well, I feel like there's a battle going on inside of me. There's a dark wolf and a light wolf.
So the minister said, okay, which one's winning? And the guy thought for a minute. And he finally answered and he said, the one that I feed. Saints, which one are you feeding?
Because that one's going to win. You feed the light with the word of God. Time in his presence. You don't have to be perfect.
Just get in it. And I would encourage you to the physical actual word of God is better than a cell phone. You know why? Because this is a living word of God.
You can highlight in this. You can write in this. You can dog your pages in it. You can interact with it.
Have a notebook with you. God's trying to speak to you through his living word. So write down what you think he's saying to you. You don't have to be perfect.
Just start practicing. Just start trying. Spend time in God's presence. Listen for him.
There is a great exchange that took place at the cross with Jesus. Our old man died so the new man could live. Receive this in your heart. You're a new creation.
You have a new identity. Amen. Amen. Let's say it while we pray.
Father God, we love you so much. You are a good, good God, better than we deserve. Thank you for the exchanges that took place at the cross. Thank you for your power, your victory over sin and the enemy and over our old nature, our damnate nature.
Thank you for your victory there. Help us Lord God to remember these words that you've spoken to us today. The words from your scripture, as we go forward in this battle against the enemy while we try to advance your kingdom. Help us to remember these words so we can stand strong in your strength, Jesus, as we lay the old man back in the grave every time the enemy brings him up.
Jesus, thank you for being alongside us, helping us out in this life, for setting the beautiful, wonderful, perfect example for us and for already paying the price for our sins. You pay the price for our sins. So we don't have to. Yes.
Thank you, Jesus. You died for us and you just ask us to live for you. We love you Lord. Help every one of us here today as we go forward to live this out in our life, to live out this exchange life.
Thank you for your grace that enables us to do so. Thank you for never allowing us to be tempted beyond what we can handle and for giving us a way out. Help us to be there for each other as we encourage one another to walk out this life that you've given for us, this life that we get in exchange for the death you died. Thank you, Father God.
In the mighty name of Jesus, the whole church says amen. Thank you all so much. Have a blessed day.
